Iran’s Padvish Antivirus detects WannaCry worm

Tehran, May 17, IRNA – Iranian indigenized Padvish Antivirus detected WannaCry ransomware computer worm which has carried out worldwide attacks on neighboring countries’ computers.

According to Iran Telecommunication Research Center, the ransomware encrypts all computer files and data and then demands ransom payments in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in 28 languages.

Iranian domestic antivirus was successful in stopping ransomeware attacks which had infected computers in 90 countries.

Padvish Antivirus, commonly known as Padvish, is an antivirus software package developed by an Iranian company.
