Uzbek president sympathizes with Rouhani over recent flood casualties

Moscow, April 20, IRNA – Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a message to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani expressed sympathy over human repercussions of the recent flood and victimization of a number of Iranians.

In the message made available to IRNA Office in Moscow on Thursday, he wrote, 'Recent flooding in some parts of the country and victimization of a number of Iranians were a sorrowful incident and very saddening for me.'

'I express my solidarity with Your Excellency and Iranian nation to convey to the families of the victims and I also share the affliction with the Iranians,' he said.

Torrential rains last week and flooding in various regions in East Azarbaijan province caused 42 people mission in Ajabshir and Azarshahr, of which bodies of 38 victims have been recovered through fortnight efforts of the relief and rescue workers.
