Berlin supports Iran nuclear deal: German official

Tehran, March 8, IRNA - Deputy Speaker of German parliament Claudia Roth said her country supports Iran nuclear and won’t let it be reneged on.

She made the remarks in Tuesday meeting with Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran (ICHTO) Zahra Ahmadipour.

Roth said Iran enjoys rich culture and various cultural heritage and Berlin has always supported Iran’s efforts in establishing interaction with the world.

The German official pointed to President Hassan Rouhani’s policies, saying that Berlin hopes that these policies to continue and.

She also referred to Iranian world-known director Asghar Farhadi whose ‘The Salesman’ won 2017 Academy Award for the best foreign language film, saying that the award conveyed a message to US President Donald Trump in line with his Muslim ban executive order.

The US President, Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 27, upon which US borders will be closed for 4 months on refugees. Visa issuance has also been banned for seven Muslim countries, including Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen for 3 months. Trump later exempted Iraq from his order.

The US decision has widely been criticized by human rights bodies, indicating that Trump has targeted Muslims for their beliefs.
