“A number of Islamic states are well-off but they are not ready to help and support” the oppressed people of Palestine, Larijani said on Wednesday in a meeting with his counterpart from Zimbabwe Francis Mudenda.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising) which ended Wednesday evening issuing a 24-point final statement calling for an end to seven decades of Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Larijani hailed his Zimbabwean counterpart for his speech at the two-day conference saying his words were “encouraging”.
In his address to the conference, Mudenda condemned the Zionist regime of Israel for continuous construction of illegal settlements in the Palestinian occupied lands in violation of several resolutions of the United Nations against it.
Meanwhile, Mudenda, said that Iran plays a leading role in solving regional crises.
He hoped that Tehran would maintain its leading role in the region and continue dialogues at the international level.
Reaffirming his country’s support for Intifada, Mudenda said, Harare will keep up supporting Palestine until it will turn into a full-fledged and established country.
He also stressed that parliaments of the participating countries in the Intifada conference should do their best to help implementation of the conference final statement which urged the necessity of putting an end to seven decades of Israeli occupation and underlined the need for collective efforts of all Muslim countries to defend legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation.
