UN Elders meet with Iran’s Zarif

Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA – The UN Elders met with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Friday on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference.

Different issues, including Daesh (the ISIS terrorist group), the crises in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon and other regional issues were discussed during the meeting.

The UN Elders underlined Iran’s key role in resolving regional issues and maintenance of peace and security in the region.

The UN Elders is composed of former Algerian foreign affairs minister Lakhdar Brahimi, former Mexican president Ernesto Zedillo and a number of other internationally-acclaimed figures from different countries.
