Saudis frustrated by Yemeni people strong will: Spokesman

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA – Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir's justification of Yemen war is a sign of their frustration by the Yemeni people strong will, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.

He made the remarks in reaction to Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir remarks.

Qasemi pointed to Saudis' two years of fruitless war and their war crimes against defenseless people of Yemen and said, 'Saudi foreign minister justification of brutal attacks against Yemeni civilians, women and children is a sign of his country's frustration and heavy defeat by strong commitment of Yemens' tireless people.'

He said that Saudis failed to make progress and achieve their goals in the region.

Al-Jubeir's claims are against the ongoing realities of the region, Qasemi added.

He said, 'It was Saudi Arabia that prepared the ground for creation and growth of terrorism in the region in the previous years.'

Qasemi rejected the unreal and insulting remarks of Saudi foreign minister.

Blame game cannot clean the history of creation and spread of extremism and Saudi dynasty's role in growth of diversionary ideologies, the official added.

He said, 'The outcome of spread of hate in large scale is the growth of branches of Takfiri terrorism in West Asia and North Africa.'

The unholy result of spread of hatred was daily killing of innocent people, looting their assets and burning their lands, Qasemi noted.

He underlined Iran's principled adherence to good neighbourly relations in the region.

The spokesman added that improvement of relations with the neighbours is Iran's top priority.

Iran has taken good steps torward normalization and improvement of relations with its neighbours in the past years, the official added.

He said, 'Saudis' open and covert sabotage has been the major obstacle to creation of a stable and safe region.'
