Larijani: Iran willing to bolster relations with Islamic, Arab states

Tehran, Nov 13 , IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to broaden relations with Islamic and Arab countries, but, some regional countries should adopt constructive conduct with Iran.

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with the former Iraqi Vice President Khazir al-Khazaei in Tehran on Sunday.

Iranian government and nation wish to see a secure and stable Iraq with the people living in full welfare mainly after the dictatorial regime of Saddam Hussein, he said.

Iraq is regarded as Iran's close ally and the two sides have broadened cooperation on various political, economic and cultural fields, he said.

The good news about victories of the Iraqi forces over terrorist groups is the source of pride and happiness for the region as well as Iran and all expect to see bright days ahead for the neighbor state of Iraq, Larijani said.

The Iraqi problems would be resolved through collective contribution of all political parties and the Islamic Republic of Iran is to spare no efforts to render its invaluable experiences to resolve them, he said.

Unity among Iraqi political parties is pre-requisite to deal with all political, economic and security problems, he said.

The Iraqi envoy, for his part highlighted the two sides religious, cultural, historical and geographical commonalities and said the two Muslim and neighboring states enjoy a very consolidated ties based on mutual respect.

The Iraqi Army along with the popular forces are currently involved in campaign against Daesh terrorists and will wash them out from Iraqi soil, he said.
