Iranian Navy fleet gives berth at Port of Baku amid warm welcome

Baku, Oct 19, IRNA – Iranian Navy fleet comprised of Damavand destroyer and Joshan missile-launcher warship gave berth at Port of Baku amid warm welcome on Wednesday.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by Iranian ambassador to Baku Javad Jahangirzadeh, a number of Azeri Navy commanders and Iran's military attaché to Baku Ali Seifi.

The Navy fleet embarked on ferrying the Caspian Sea toward Baku Port to convey message of peace and friendship to the Caspian Sea littoral states.

The Caspian Sea is bordered to the south by Iran, to the north by Russia, to the West by Russia and Azerbaijan Republic and to the east by Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

During their three-day stay in Baku, the Iranian Navy delegation will visit the country's high military school and the tomb of the late Azeri leader Heydar Aliyev.
