Pakistani delegation to visit Iran to follow up gas deals

Tehran, March 28, IRNA – Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Exporting Company announced that a Pakistani delegation will pay a visit to Tehran soon to finalize gas agreements signed between the two countries during President Hassan Rouhani's recent visit to Islamabad.

Ali Reza Kameli underlined the importance of gas agreements reached between Iran and Pakistan, and said, 'The visit of Pakistani delegation will take place for finalizing gas agreements.'

He pointed to the achievements of President Rouhani's visit to Pakistan, and said, 'During the Iranian president's visit, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh discussed different economic issues as well as removal of problems related to contracts dealing with gas exports to Pakistan which resulted in tacit agreements in this regard.'

'The two sides agreed in the talks to finalize the agreements during the upcoming visit of the Pakistani delegation to Iran in order to implement Iran's gas exports' operations to Pakistan,' Kameli added.

'We believe that gas contracts can consolidate economic and cultural relations given the emphasis laid upon by President Rouhani on gas interactions with the neighboring countries, specially Pakistan,' he said.
