Iran, Pakistan to hold joint economic commission

Tehran, March 27, IRNA – Iran and Pakistan are to hold the 20th meeting of their joint economic commission in months.

The agreement was reached in Islamabad during a meeting between Iran’s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Pakistani Minister of Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday.

The ministers explored existing capacities and common points between the two countries for expanding trade and economic relations and said they follow up an earlier agreement between Iranian and Pakistani presidents to raise the economic exchange volume by five times to the level of five billion dollars.

The Pakistani minister hoped an agreement signed by directors of central banks of Iran and Pakistan would facilitate expansion of trade and economic relations.
