Azeri envoy: Cultural heritage vital for boosting mutual cooperation

Ardebil, West Azarbaijan, March 23, IRNA – Azerbaijan's envoy to Tehran Javanshir Akhundov said here on Wednesday that cultural heritage would play a pivotal role in fostering mutual cooperation.

Akhundov made the remarks while touring Ardebil historical city northwest of Iran.

He reiterated that Ardebil plays a key role in boosting relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Touching upon the 12 agreements inked by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his visiting Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev in February 2016, the envoy added that expansion of railways and tourism infrastructures is important for expansion of mutual cooperation.

According to the agreements, Tehran and Baku will strengthen cooperation in various sectors including customs, animal husbandry, railway transportation, electricity, health and medical sciences, labor, women and social affairs as well as oil and gas.
