Iran, Russia launch joint survey in oil, gas fields

Moscow, March 16, IRNA – The state-owned “Rosgeologia” Company has launched cooperation with the National Iranian Oil Company in surveying findings related to the vibration detection on a number of oil and gas fields for providing the preliminaries of exploration operations.

The Russian company announced Wednesday that the research works are within the framework of an agreement signed with the Russian Company “Lukoil Engineering”.
Within the framework of this agreement, study of the vibration detection documents of the past years about the Persian Gulf and Abadan plateau have been started by a company affiliated to Rosgeologica.
According to the report, experts have one year time to study and analyze the documents about vibration detection in oil and gas fields in south of Iran.
Iran and Russia prior to the one-sided sanctions of the West launched widespread cooperation in the field of oil and gas but anti-Iran limitations drastically dropped cooperation in this regard.
