Vice President: Neighboring countries not safe for Iranian tourists

Tehran, March 6, IRNA - Vice-President and Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltani-Far said that the neighboring countries which were regarded as Iranian's tourist destinations are not secure enough nowadays.

Speaking in the Seventh Travel Services Coordination Central Staff's Press Conference hosted by Alborz Governorate, Soltani-Far said that despite economic recession, tourism industry showed a 12 percent-growth, which is three times more than the world average.

Referring to insecure atmosphere of certain neighboring countries for Iranian tourists, he reiterated that Iran is the safest country in the region, adding that the cost of internal trip in Iran is less than foreign ones.
