Indonesian energy minister to visit Iran next week

Kuala Lumpur, March 4, IRNA – Indonesian Energy Minister Sudirman Said is to pay an official visit to Tehran next week to clinch a short term oil deal for daily purchase of 120,000 barrels of crude oil, it was announced on Friday.

According to Jakarta Globe newspaper which hit the news stands on Friday, the oil is to be purchased for an oil refinery in southern part of Indonesia.

Indonesian energy minister heading a delegation is to visit Tehran next week to sign contract for purchase of oil as well as conduct of feasibility studies on investment in Iran's liquid gas.

Iranian high ranking delegation from petroleum ministry met with their counterparts in Indonesia and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) after implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and removal of economic sanctions.

Indonesia produces about 817,000 barrels of oil per day and requires import of the same amount to meet its domestic demands.
