Ali Harandi said under the sanctions due to numerous limitations airplane refueling tankers were not able to enter the country for refueling, adding with the cooperation of domestic companies measures were taken for fundamental repair and manufacture of new aircraft refueling.
Harandi further remarked that with the support of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Iran joined the countries possessing the technical know-how for the manufacture of refueling tanks for passenger planes.
He said presently there are nearly 54 refueling centers in the airports of the country and by using 170 refueling tankers an average 4 to 5 million liters of jet fuel are delivered to the passenger planes.
The official noted that prior to the approval and implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) the daily domestic and foreign flight operations in the country was 400 to 450 which has now increased to 600 operations.
According to NIOPDC director, most of the airlines have settled their debts to the company for receiving fuel but still two airlines whose debts amount to 2,650 billion rials have not specified their situation.
