'The first Iranian container ship, following five years of brutal sanctions, have started its journey towards the European ports in the past days and it is expected to dock at two European ports in the following days,' Mohammad Saidi told reporters on the sidelines of an Iran-Singapore trade conference at the IRISL head office in Tehran on Sunday.
'The container ship is carrying petrochemical products for Europe,' Saidi added.
He said that during Western-imposed sanctions, the European countries altogether, blocked Iranian vessels to dock at their ports.
'But fortunately, following the removal of sanctions and the implementation of the JCPOA, the IRISL has managed to take appropriate measures to reestablish shipping lines with Europe,' he said.
'This is a big development to resume shipping lines with Europe,' he said.
