‘Black Horse Memories’ among select works of Istanbul Festival

Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA – ‘Black Horse Memories,’ an Iran-Turkey joint production of 2015 has advanced to competition sector of the 15th Istanbul International Independent Film Festival, Turkey.

The movie competes for the trophy with American, French, German, Chinese, Belgian, Ethiopian, Finish, British, Turkish, and Spanish movies. Among the select movies for competition sector are admired films in prestigious festivals of Cannes, Locarno, Rotterdam, Vancouver, Busan, and Beijing. Observers predict close neck-to-neck competition for the trophy.
Black Horse Memories relates the tale of a dead girl who leaves a will demanding that her black horse be presented when she dies. Among the cast of the film is famous Turkish actress Berrak Tüzünataç. She was a supporting actress in ‘Nick — Off Duty’ with Til Schweiger and also in the serialized saga of the Ottoman emperors, ‘The Magnificent Century.’
Vildan Atasever and Şevval Sam are also the crew of the film which would be interesting to aficionados of the Turkish cinema and TV. The festival has kicked off on Wednesday and will close February 28. Shahram Alidi’s ‘Whisper of the Wind’ had snatched international trophies among them the 2009 Cannes’ trophy.
