Senior MP: Iran's missile test doesn't violate JCPOA

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Head of Majlis (parliament) Research Center Kazem Jalali said on Wednesday that Iran's missile test fire does not violate Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) .

Speaking to reporters, he said that test fire of long-range surface-to-surface missile dubbed 'Emad' (Pillar) by Iran does not violate JCPOA. Jalali underlined that Iran will not take permission from anybody to enhance its defense capabilities. Iran has always declared explicitly that it will not compromise its national security and defense capabilities, he said, adding that Iran's military capability is not a threat against any country. Speaking about recent quarrel in Majlis over ratification of CJPOA, he urged boosting unity among political factions. The defense minister announced on Sunday that the long-range surface-to-surface missile 'Emad' was a new generation of the ballistic missiles that was test-fired successfully. He said Emad has been designed and built by the Iranian experts. Emad, he said, is the first Iranian long-range missile that can be directed and controlled till it strikes the target. 'To follow our defense programs, we don't seek permission from anyone,' stressed the defense minister. 9191**1312
