IAEA inspectors in Tehran on Tuesday

Tehran, Sept 12, IRNA – A nuclear official announced here Saturday that the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are to visit Iran on September 15.

Talking to Iran, Deputy Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali-Asghar Zarean made the remark. Visit to military sites is not on the inspectors' agenda, said the official. The visit is taking place in line with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), said he. On July 14, Iran and world's six major powers known as the Group 5+1 (the US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China) concluded their over a decade-long negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear activities which led to the signing of the JCPOA. According to the text of the document, the anti-Iran sanctions will be removed in exchange for some limitations on the country’s nuclear energy program and Iran will be recognized by the United Nations as a nuclear power and will continue its uranium enrichment program.
