Zionist regime behind regional, global insecurity: First Deputy FM

Tehran, July 16, IRNA - Foreign Ministry's First Deputy Morteza Sarmadi said occupation of Palestine, Beit ul-Muqaddas and Al-Quds Al-Sharif by the Zionist regime of Israel is the root cause of insecurity and extremism in the region and world.

Speaking to ambassadors of Islamic states in Tehran on Wednesday night, he said the Islamic World needs to put condemnation of occupation, suppression, judaization of Quds, and siege on Qaza Strip by the usurper Zionist regime on top of its agenda.
Referring to the importance of solidarity in the Islamic ummah, Sarmadi added, 'Our commonalities are far more than differences. Unfortunately, the Islamic World is nowadays witnessing a very hard time.'
'All of us are facing the menace of extremism, violence under the guise of religion, terrorism, sectarianism, and various similar economic and social hardships,' he added.
He also said that violence in the Middle East region has been imposed on it by foreign
inervention from outside including occupation of Palestine, military invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, foreign intervention in Syria and training and arming of extremist terrorist groups.
Sarmadi urged all Islamic states to adopt realist approaches and follow moderation, and mutual respect of rights in order to improve the situation in the region.
'Demagogues are neither Shia nor Sunni,' he said, warning that Zionists hate all Muslims and that extremists are bent on destablizing every Islamic state.
The Iranian official also stressed that regional crises cannot be settled by military aggression and resorting to force, and said bombardment and destruction only give rise to hatred as the only way to settlement of challenges is the political solution.
