Iran should not be optimistic about US: commander

Tehran, July 5, IRNA – Commander of ground forces of the Army Brigadier General Ahmadreza Pourdastan on Sunday said, 'the US may reach agreements with Iran in the nuclear talks, but, the United States is not trustworthy.'

Referring to the Supreme Leader's pessimism about US promises, Pourdastan said, 'their enmity with us is deep-rooted because we are seeking the right, we are seeking the freedom of the nations, but they are seeking to exploit the nations.'

The Islamic Awakening movements in West and East Asia and North Africa have been inspired by the 1979 Islamic Revolution of the Iranian nation and the United States is angry with that, Pourdastan said.

When they saw they couldn't bring Iran to its knees through hard war, they resorted to soft war, he said, adding that today nearly 3,000 TV channels are hatching plots against the Islamic Republic and spending billions of dollars.
