Iran ranks 16th worlwide for generation of science in Scopus list

Tehran, May 25, IRNA – Secretary of the High Cultural Revolution Council Mohammad-Reza Mokhber Dezfuli said on Monday that according to Iran Scopus data base, in 2015, Iran ranked 16th in the world in terms of producing science.

Mokhber Dezfuli told a ceremony to unveil the Book on Indices of Iran's Scientific and Technical Development from 2001 to 2012, attended by Ministers of Science, Research and Technology and of Health, Medication and Medical Education, that Iran's ranking for 2014 was 17th.
He said that according to Web of Science, Iran also ranks 20th in generation of science worldwide, hoping that more rankings will be gained through more endeavors and efforts.
Meanwhile, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mohammad Farhadi, told the audience that Iran's share in generation of science worldwide is still 1.5 percent.
Farhadi said that Iran's ranking in generation of science is second in the list of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) states and first in the list of regional and Muslim world states.
