Analyst says EU waiting for termination of unjust sanctions on Iran

Belgrade, May 3, IRNA – Iran's extensive facilities and vast market have prompted world, especially the EU members, waiting for swift termination of unfair sanctions on Iran, EU analyst said on Sunday.

Talking to IRNA in Belgrade Serbian Megatrend University PhD Mića Jovanovic said that the Israeli regime has been behind the sanctions to impede economic development of the Iranian nation.

He said that the Israeli regime in the meantime had every effort to sabotage Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks.

He expressed concern about escalation of crisis and hostility in Ukraine and the sanctions on Russian Federation and said that there are violation of humanitarian law in both Ukraine and Russia for the sanctions.

He said that the European Union is suffering from recession and the EU member states are willing to develop economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a priority.

He referred to Iran's giant gas reserves and shortage of gas supplies in the EU member states and said that Iran is a reliable gas supplier to both Europe and other parts of the world.

'The European states are keen on purchasing Iranian gas waiting to see termination of the sanctions the western governments have imposed over the nuclear dispute.'

The academic said that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and Iran is keen on cordial relations based on mutual respect with other countries.

'President Hassan Rouhani after election to the post has taken positive steps to remove doubts of certain western governments about Iran's nuclear program.'

He said after the framework agreement reached by representatives of Iran and the western governments in Lausanne, Switzerland, many companies from four corners of the world have become interested in trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He referred to importance of the Middle East for world economy and said only countries of the region, including Iran, can guarantee peace and stability in the Middle East and it will serve interests of all regional nations.

The EU analyst touched on crisis in Yemen and innocent people of the country getting victim of air raids by Saudi government, and said like Daesh terrorist attacks in Iraq, the crisis is supported by several western governments and the aim of the bloodshed is making the region insecure to gain financial profit through selling arms, military equipment and plundering natural wealth of the region.

The analyst emphasized Iran's important position in the Middle East and said the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important factor for regional and ultra-regional stability and as Iran serves as a strong and firm basis for elimination of the economic problems.

Describing Iran as a pioneering country in campaign against terrorism and criminals, the EU analyst said unity among countries to uproot terrorism is an obligation for the international community and financial and military support of certain powers are needed to stem growth of terrorism.
