Iran-Iraqi Kurdistan region annual trade hits $6bn

Sanandaj, Kordestan prov, Feb 25, IRNA – Trade between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan region has reached $6 billion a year from as low as $250 million ten years ago, according to deputy governor-general of western province of Kordestan.

Peyman Azhari made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to accord welcome to the governor-general of Iraqi Sulaimaniyah province upon his arrival in Iran at Bashmaq border.
The visit to Kordestan province by the governor-general of Sulaimaniyah would lead to further expansion of ties and transactions between Iran and Iraq, Azhari said.
Referring to agreements due to be signed during Iran visit of the Iraqi official, Azhari said that the two sides are much eager to enhance relations in all areas.
