	Qatar urges West to initiate 'serious dialogue' with Iran Berlin, Feb 5, IRNA -- A top Qatari official on Sunday called on the West to engage in a 'serious dialogue' with Iran aimed at resolving the nuclear standoff.

Speaking at the 48th Munich Security Conference in the south German city, Qatar's Foreign Affairs Minister Khalid Mohammad al-Attiyah emphasized the need 'to open up a serious dialogue with Iran' geared at ending the nuclear impasse.

He warned any talk about a military option or a tightening of sanctions against Iran would only make 'the scenario worse.'

Doha has time and again expressed support for Tehran's nuclear program.
