NZ disarmament expert: Western anti-Iran claims are a deception

Talking to IRNA, Rigg said western anti-Iran sanctions would block progress of a nation.

He said the west’s propaganda that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is “dangerous” aims to deceive the world.

He added that Iran tries to turn into a country having peaceful nuclear power, using the energy to address its own needs.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran tries to use abundant advantages of nuclear energy in line with its international commitments and obligations of having authorized activities. “This is the right given to countries by global community.”

Rigg said international organizations should help countries get progress and development.

“Iran is a member of the Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT); so based on the IAEA regulations, it is entitled to acquiring nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The IAEA too should help and support countries in the way, avoiding any measure which would restrict and violate rights of the members.”
